At THEKER, we're taking on one of the greatest challenges of the 21st century: redefining how physical work gets done in the world.
We are a robotics and AI company building intelligent, adaptable systems that solve problems traditional automation never could. From Barcelona, our mission is to create a generation-defining company leading the robotics revolution.
By joining us, you will have the chance to do the most meaningful work of your life, setting a new standard for industrial automation and driving breakthroughs with global reach, while being surrounded by a focused, talent-dense team that shares this ambition and is here to win.
We're looking for an AI Tooling Engineer to build the internal infrastructure that makes our engineering team move faster and smarter. This isn't a research role. It's about shipping tools that have a measurable impact on how we design, develop, and deploy robotic systems — starting this week.
You'll work directly with engineers across software, hardware, and operations to identify where AI can cut friction and then build it. That means LLM integrations, internal agents, evaluation pipelines, retrieval systems, and whatever else removes bottlenecks from the way we work. The team is small, the scope is wide, and the things you build will be used every day.
You'll have enough autonomy to make real technical decisions, and enough context on the product to make them wisely. A good quarter in this role means our engineers spend less time on repetitive cognitive work and more time on the problems only they can solve.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
Solid Python skills and experience building production-quality software, not just scripts or notebooks.
Hands-on experience with LLMs: prompt engineering, function calling, RAG, or fine-tuning.
Ability to work autonomously, ship fast, and iterate based on real feedback from internal users.
Strong communication skills and comfort working across engineering disciplines.
Willingness to reside in or relocate to Barcelona.
Nice to have
Experience building agents or multi-step LLM pipelines with tools like LangChain, LlamaIndex, or custom frameworks.
Familiarity with vector databases and embedding-based retrieval systems.
Experience designing evaluation frameworks to measure LLM output quality.
Background in developer tooling, internal platforms, or MLOps.
You're excited by a fast-paced and ambitious environment. The opportunity ahead of us is enormous, and we're going all in to capture it.
You want responsibility early on, delivering at world-class standards for leading clients.
You enjoy experimenting, iterating quickly, and embracing change as part of the learning process.
You get energy from watching your tools actually get used, and from the feedback loop that comes with building for a team you sit next to.
Build and maintain internal AI tools that help the engineering team work faster across software, hardware, and operations workflows.
Design and implement LLM-powered pipelines for tasks like code generation assistance, documentation, data extraction, and process automation.
Develop retrieval-augmented generation systems over THEKER's internal knowledge base.
Build evaluation frameworks to measure and improve the reliability of AI tool outputs.
Identify high-leverage opportunities to apply AI across the organization and scope them into concrete projects.
Maintain and improve deployed tools based on direct feedback from internal users.
Collaborate with software engineers to integrate AI capabilities into existing systems and workflows.
Being part of a fast-growing robotics and AI company with genuine ambition, where your career can accelerate alongside us.
The chance to own THEKER's internal AI tooling from the ground up, with direct visibility into the impact your work has on the entire engineering team.
A focused, talent-dense team where your work is visible and your decisions count.
An environment where new ideas are encouraged and your contributions shape both the product and the company.
100% on-site work in Barcelona.
